How To Find A Mentor

IMG_5654-M-175Having a mentor is crucial to your success! What better way to achieve all the great things you’re after in life than to have somebody that has already done it show you the way.

Finding the mentor that is right for you can be a little tricky at first. Everybody offers coaching program or mentorships to show you that shortcut to the big-money, perfect body or the fast lane to freedom.

You shouldn’t rush out and cut a check to the first person you come across to hire as your mentor.

Remember your mentor is somebody that you’re going to spend time with for the next 6 to 12 months in most cases. Better be sure this individual shares the same ethics, principles and has your best interest at heart otherwise this is going to be one ugly expensive relationship.

So where the heck do you find your perfect mentor to help you achieve what you’re after?

First you must decide what exactly you want in life. Is it the ability to fire your boss, have an amazing body or be a giant real estate investor.

You should have a pen and paper out right now deciding exactly what you want. Write in great detail! This is what’s going to help you find who your next mentor will be and who’s going to get you to the next level in life.

Seriously you better write this down right now before we go any further!!

Now that you’ve written down exactly what you want to do it’s time to find that mentor.

An amazing place to find great mentors is podcasts!

Why are podcast great?
First off they are completely free! People start podcast just to share their awesomeness not in an arrogant fashion but just to add great content to everybody’s life on a daily or weekly basis.

Start sampling podcasts.
Download 10 or so to your iPhone and sample everybody show. Find out who you feel you connect with. Listen to their guests that come on the show. Do they have a really great story that you truly can relate to? Do you see yourself learning a whole lot from this individual?

Subscribe to their email list.
When you subscribe to your potential mentors email list you usually get an awesome gift just for giving up your email. Based on what this awesome gift is this will tell you if you like to learn more from this potential mentor of yours.

Next you get daily or weekly updates from this person sharing create content with you based on this counter you can decide if this really is the person that’s going to teach you what you are looking to know. This is completely free as well!

I want you to hear and learn as much as you can for free from your mentor. Hiring a mentor is an expensive investment this is why you sample their free stuff to be sure that you really want to write this person a check.

Mentorships are usually charge on a monthly basis. They can range anywhere from $500 to $5000 or even $25,000 per month to work one-on-one with them. Before you write them this big check sample their low cost audio programs, video programs or e-books. These can range anywhere from $5.00 to as much as $100 pretty much anybody can afford this. I suggest you start with purchasing one of their low cost programs to see if the value still there. If this person is still delivering even with the low-cost items and you are getting a load of valuable material from them this may be the mentor for you!

If you are financially stable and able to make the purchase of one-on-one coaching or mentorships the results can be amazing. Hire your new mentor once you know they’re the one for you, ask the questions and do as they say!

If this person has truly been through it before they will show you the shortcut to achieve what you are after.
